Meidän toiminnan arvoina on ekologisuus, joka näkyy mm. niin ettei Rakinkotkassa ole käytetty muovia, peltiä tai kyllästettyä puuta. Rakennukset uusiokäytössä olevia vanhoja latoja ja hirsimökkejä. Rakennuksiin on käytetty mm. paljon tuulen kaatamia puita saarelta. Myös thermowood on käyttömateriaalina saarella. Lisäksi käytössämme on pääasiassa vihreää sähköä.
